Terms & Conditions

Maltings Fabrics – Early 20th Century Textiles

We trade chiefly with costume professionals. We are however pleased to take orders from anyone with an interest in fabrics as they are all printed & woven by established specialists and therefore suitable for daily use.

We have made every effort to ensure an accurate representation of the fabrics, but please be aware, colours viewed on a screen will be affected by the settings of the device on which they are viewed. Please order a swatch if you are unsure. Some of our fabrics are limited edition and cannot be reordered. Please bear this in mind if you think you may want to buy more in the future. Also please be mindful that there may be slight batch differences if fabrics are ordered at separate times.

All of our fabrics are machine washable at 40 degrees & can be dry cleaned.

Please be aware we do not sell certified furnishing fabrics. You may be able to use some of our fabrics for curtains, covers and other interior uses, however this is at the customers full discretion as none of our fabrics are treated to be fire retardant, nor have they had furnishing rub tests carried out on them.

Purchasing

We operate a secure credit card system to handle online orders, using PayPal. We are happy to take purchase orders from recognised companies. Please use the “Pay by purchase order” button or contact us for details.

Prices / VAT

Please note that prices do not include VAT. This will be added in the checkout stage.

Delivery charges are also subject to VAT @ 20%.

Postage and packing (shipping)

All orders are delivered by the Royal Mail or courier depending on the value of your goods. This cost will be added after the checkout button. If you need urgent delivery let us know and we can try to deliver by the following day. Please contact us for details of worldwide delivery charges. You may be subject to import duties or taxes, which are levied once your shipment reaches your country, if it is outside of the EEC. These additional charges are to be borne by you. We have no control over these charges and we can not predict when they may occur. This is because customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further details. For certain orders, the carriage added on the web site is insufficient. Should this happen we will contact you about the additional cost.

Delivery Times

Most items will be in stock and will be dispatched the day after your order is received. Otherwise, please allow 7-10 working days. If there is likely to be any further delay we will contact you.

Complaints, exchanges and returns

If you are not satisfied with any of our goods, please contact us in writing within 48hrs of receipt. We do not have a policy of accepting returns on fabrics as the lengths have been cut to order.

This does not affect your statutory rights. All exchanges must be pre-authorized by us and in the event of an authorized return, orders from outside United Kingdom must be marked as ‘RETURNED BRITISH GOODS’ & ‘NO VAT OR DUTY DUE’ in order to avoid taxes.

If you have any complaints or queries please contact us by e-mail us at info@maltingsfabrics.com. We guarantee to answer all queries within 2 working days, although the vast majority will be answered instantly.

We also value and welcome all criticisms or suggestions from our customers.

Security

We will not make your personal details available to anybody else. Credit card information supplied by you is entered directly to the PayPal secure server, via an iframe. We neither handle nor store credit card information.
